And so it begins, the season we either love or dread — “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!” For many of us, this season kicks off with celebrating my most favorite holiday of all – Thanksgiving. Why is this my most favorite holiday? Because it’s all about food, family and friends. But it’s also a time to sit back and give thanks for so many blessings in our lives. Can I ask you….honestly…..how much time do you really spend focusing on gratitude? Many people only truly think about what they are grateful for on the holiday that bears the name — Thanksgiving! Well, it’s time for a check up from the neck up!

Do you want to know the secret to genuinely enjoying this wonderful time of the year? It’s your attitude! Why do most of us only take stock of all the goodness in our lives on the last Thursday of November year after year? What would our lives be like if we adopted the popular phrase created years ago by Zig Ziglar, “Have an attitude of gratitude.”? According to Zig, “The more you recognize and express gratitude for the things you have, the more things you will have to express gratitude for.” Driving in my car recently, the radio announcer stated something that really made an impression. She said that thankfulness precedes joy. Think about that. If you’re not appreciating all the good in your life right now, how can you possibly appreciate more? And then, my friend sent me this:

Do-You-Have-an-Attitude

There seems to be a powerful message here!

So, I challenge you, over these next few weeks, take stock of your life. Truly count your blessings every day in every way. Keep a running list. Think of as many things as you can that you’re thankful for right now. When you try on an attitude of gratitude, you’ll see a change in your mood, your outlook and you. In the end, you might just realize that it really is the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
